Everton fans have reacted on Twitter to Aston Villa signing Danny Ings.
Late on Wednesday evening, the Midlands outfit made the surprise announcement on Twitter that they had secured the signature of the Southampton striker.
It was a bolt out of the blue because there had been nothing in the transfer waters in recent days to suggest that a bid had been submitted for Ings or any talks were taking place.
Following that Ings deal, Everton supporters feel that Villa are having a cracking window despite being close to losing Jack Grealish to Manchester City.
A number of Premier League clubs were interested in Ings this summer, including Everton.
But with the Englishman in the final year of his contract at St Mary’s, those at Villa Park have taken advantage and snapped him up.
Some Everton supporters do feel that the West Midlands outfit are pulling away from them now and could finish above them next season.
The Toffees have a new man in the dugout in Rafa Benitez, but they have been nowhere near as busy as Villa in the transfer market.
Although, spending and splashing the cash isn’t always the answer, as Everton will know full well.
