Newcastle United are said to be set to make an approach for Sheffield Wednesday boss Steve Bruce.

Newcastle United’s Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons may be two of the few people around St. James’ Park who will be delighted if Steve Bruce comes in from Sheffield Wednesday.
The news has not gone down well with Newcastle supporters, who feel that they are taking a major step backwards by going after the Wednesday boss.
However, Lazaar and Aarons may just think that they will be given another chance at Newcastle now.
Lazaar and Aarons were surely set for the exit door if Rafael Benitez had remained in charge.
However, the pair are now back training with the Magpies, and Bruce knows them both well.

Bruce took the forgotten Newcastle duo on loan at Wednesday last season, and managed them well.
Lazaar, in particular, impressed at Hillsborough and Bruce will surely be prepared to give him another chance.
Newcastle’s options at left-back are hardly plentiful, and Lazaar may well push to take Paul Dummett’s place with Bruce at the helm.
And although the news of Bruce’s potential appointment has gone down badly with most at Newcastle, Lazaar and Aarons may be the only two celebrating.
