Portuguese outlet OJOGO quotes AC Milan Sporting Director Massimo Mirabelli confirming that Andre Silva may be available for loan this summer and that Wolverhampton Wanderers, along with Galatasaray, made offers for the forward.

“We have invested heavily in André and [Gennaro] Gattuso will still test him on the pitch,” said Mirabelli.

“If it does not work, we want him to play in a top club.”

The report then states that Mirabelli admitted that offers had been received from both Wolves and Galatasaray – offers that were clearly turned down.

Silva, who joined Milan from Porto a year ago for €38 million, struggled in his first season in Serie A. The 22-year-old managed just two goals in the Italian top flight, although he did fare better in Europe, scoring eight times in 14 games.

His one-in-two record in Portugal was enough to secure him a move to Milan as a part of their major rebuild last year and, it seems, has left enough hope that he may still come good.

Gattuso will now use pre-season to judge the forward, and Silva could find his opportunities a little more open as Nikola Kalinic reportedly nears a move to Atletico Madrid.

It now looks like any move for Silva would happen very late in the window, meaning now is the time to decide if waiting is worth the risk for Wolves.
