West Ham United and new manager Manuel Pellegrini are reportedly interested in Barcelona’s Andre Gomes.

Spanish outlet Sport is claiming that West Ham United remain in pole position to sign Barcelona’s Andre Gomes.
The Portuguese midfielder has become a figure of derision among some fans since arriving from Valencia in 2015 and looks set to finally move away this summer.
West Ham could also be the ideal place for Gomes to rediscover his form; especially under new coach Manuel Pellegrini.
West Ham have undergone a series of changes all over the pitch since the end of last season, with the ambition of Pellegrini’s appointment matched by the signings of Jack Wilshere, Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop and more.
And that could be the right environment for Gomes, who has found the pressure at Barcelona to be tougher than he was used to while not being perfectly suited to their slow, possession-based style.

West Ham, however, do not have the pressures of Barca and are instead looking to improve on a 13th-place finish as part of a long-term plan.
Pellegrini, similarly, should offer Gomes what he needs in a faster, attacking brand of football; the kind the Portuguese international thrived under at Valencia and Benfica and saw him earn a move to Barcelona in the first place.
Gomes might not be liked at Camp Nou but he could find a lot of fans at the London Stadium.
