Sturridge stole the show with his wonder goal for Liverpool against Chelsea this weekend.

Daniel Sturridge’s minutes to goals ratio this season ranks higher than pretty much anyone in Europe; the Liverpool striker has only started two of a possible eight games and yet he has four goals.
His first of the season came in his first game with his first touch against West Ham United to wrap up a 4-0 win – and his latest came in similar, if more spectacular, fashion.
With his first touch of the ball at Stamford Bridge, Sturridge curled a beautiful finish from 25 yards into the far corner that rescued a point against Chelsea.
It’s the latest sign that the 29-year-old might be rediscovering his best form at Anfield – and that’s a level that teammate Virgil van Dijk believes is very high.
“Before I arrived at Liverpool, I said he was one of the best strikers in the league and he shows it when he’s fit,” van Dijk told the official Liverpool website. “Of course he is good enough for England – there shouldn’t be any doubt.
“I know what he’s capable of, how good he can be and when he’s at his best, by playing against him and seeing him in training with the hard work that he puts in and the positivity he brings.

“We have a great squad, world-class players, and he’s one of them.”
It clearly remains to be seen if Sturridge can maintain his fitness and play consistently at Liverpool but it’s certainly been a great start.
If he can, then Jurgen Klopp has suddenly found himself with one of the most talented forwards in the country at his disposal – and that could make all the difference this year.
The praise he gets from Van Dijk sums up what Sturridge can be, all that remains to be seen is if this story has a familiar ending.
