Andros Townsend believes Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jonny Williams, and Sullay Kaikai mean Crystal Palace won’t have to spend ‘big money’ on several positions.

Andros Townsend has named three of his teammates who have helped save Crystal Palace millions in the transfer market while hailing the advantage of promising youth products.
Palace had a relatively frugal window, spending just £9.5million on Cheikhou Kouyaté. signing Jordan Ayew on loan, and bringing in Max Meyer and Vicente Guaita on free transfers – but Townsend believes that’s just a sign of the young talent coming through.
“Bringing through young players saves you in the transfer market,” Townsend told London News.
“It saves you spending big money on other players if you’re producing players like Aaron [Wan-Bissaka], Sullay [Kaikai] and Jonny [Williams] – it means you can reinvest elsewhere.
“Hopefully, there are one or two more coming through the academy who can put pressure on us to stay in the team.”
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, in particular, enjoyed the plaudits once again after another impressive performance against Fulham. The 20-year-old broke into the Palace line-up late last season and performed so well that he was awarded the club’s Player of the Month award for April.
He retained his position at right-back in the season opener and it was his work that killed the game off at 2-0, bursting forward from his own half to assist Wilfried Zaha.

Williams and Kaikai are yet to break into the first team at Premier League level, with both of them regularly being sent out on loan over the past few years.
The duo have been named in Palace’s squad for the upcoming season, however.
