Milan Skriniar is reportedly at odds with Internazionale over a new deal and that is something Tottenham Hotspur could take advantage of.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan Skriniar has rejected a new deal at Internazionale over a disagreement with his wage.

The Slovakian joined Inter a year ago from Sampdoria and had a solid first campaign in Milan; one that has seen the club try to extend his contract already.

Skriniar is reportedly on €1.7million per year, or around €33,000 a week, and Inter had hoped to bump that up to €2.5million in order to add another year to his deal.

The player has allegedly rejected it, however, as it is claimed he wants at least €3million per year if he is to be on a long-term contract with Inter.

Tottenham Hotspur have some contract issues of their own, with Toby Alderweireld having entered the final year of his deal; although there is an option of another year with a £25million release clause, according to Sky Sports. Option or not, Spurs are likely to lose Alderweireld next summer if he does not agree to a new contract.

For that reason, it would make sense for Spurs to keep an eye on the situation with Skriniar and Inter as the player could be exactly what Tottenham are looking for.

The €3million that Skriniar is allegedly hoping for works out at a little over £50,000-a-week; something that Tottenham should not have trouble matching, while his age fits in perfectly with Mauricio Pochettino’s group.

Skriniar is 23, in the same age bracket as Harry Kane, Davinson Sanchez, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, and Harry Winks – all players who Spurs will hope form the core of their side in the coming years.

If Skriniar is unhappy with things at Inter and Tottenham have a need for a centre-back, things seem a perfect fit for both parties.
