Liverpool have been linked with the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder but Tottenham Hotspur should consider a move of their own.

A report in the Mirror on Tuesday claimed that Liverpool have turned their attention to Brighton & Hove Albion’s Pascal Gross.

The paper suggests that the Reds are looking at a deal in the region of £15million for Gross and see him as an alternative to Lyon’s Nabil Fekir.

But, at that price, should Tottenham Hotspur be considering a move for the German?

There is little chance of Gross breaking into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team but he could hand Spurs some respectable cover for Christian Eriksen.

The Dane has had some medical troubles this season that saw him out of the side and there is not really another player in his style in the Spurs squad.

Gross could be that creative midfielder, however, and his seven goals and eight assists for a side in 15th last season suggest he could do a real job.

He would not be too much of a gamble for Spurs at £15million but would add depth and ease the pressure on Eriksen – two positives that could really improve the squad.

Gross would not be the most exciting signing that Tottenham could make, but he could be a very sensible one.
