Eden Hazard’s potential move to Real Madrid will put Chelsea in the market and could force Tottenham Hotspur to act fast.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino had outlined his desire for pre-World Cup signings as far back as April, although that obviously has not come to fruition.

Instead, with under three weeks left of the transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make a single signing, despite reported interest in several players.

The team needs additions, with quick wide fowards seemingly high on the agenda. Spurs have been heavily linked with moves for both Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.

They have been unable to secure a deal for either, however, or any other similar targets they may have, but could they be forced to find something quickly?

There are very strong links suggesting that Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is set to move to Real Madrid as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. Le 10 Sport reports that the Blues are set to receive as much as €190m for the Belgian and that is worrying news for Spurs.

Chelsea could be entering the market for a wide forward imminently and, with an awful lot of cash to burn, that gives them an immediate advantage over Tottenham.

If Tottenham want to secure the best player they can, it is in their best interests to get any deal done as soon as possible or risk competing against the second largest transfer fee in history.
