According to German outlet Kicker, Bayern Munich have moved forward with their interest in Nabil Fekir, having sent their chief scout to Lyon vs Shakhtar Donetsk.

While the German champions aren’t absolutely certain to push on for a deal with Lyon, it does represents the potential for it – scouting a player will always be move number one, after all.

Fekir was famously close to moving to Liverpool in the summer, only for the Reds to pull the plug after a medical brought about doubts over the player’s knee, according to the Liverpool Echo.

It would now appear that Bayern are happy to have a look for themselves, however, and while they may come to the same conclusion that Liverpool did, it’s also very possible that they see Fekir as a risk worth taking.

Liverpool would have known from the moment they pulled out that the potential was there for their concerns to eventually end up being regret.

Jurgen Klopp and co decided against moving for an alternative, much like with Virgil van Dijk a year ago, although while an eventual transfer for the Dutchman always looked likely, one for Fekir looks doubtful.

Nabil Fekir of Lyon hurts his ankle and is forced to go out during the French Ligue 1 match between Paris Saint Germain and Olympique Lyon on October 07, 2018 in Paris, France.

With Bayern moving into a position to pounce, some Liverpool fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the potential move.

It’s something of a mixed bag, with many feeling regrets over Liverpool’s withdrawal and others understanding that it’s a risk for another club to take.

No matter what happens, you can be sure that Liverpool and they’re fans will be watching the career of Nabil Fekir with keen interest for many years to come.
