Reports suggest that Liverpool’s Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic is set to reject a bid from Crystal Palace in favour of another loan at Cardiff City.

Marko Grujic’s future is a little up in the air right now as the Serbian midfielder looks set for another spell away from Liverpool next season.

An impressive loan spell at Cardiff City last season showed that he does have what it takes to succeed in England – and that was reportedly enough for Crystal Palace to get involved.

The Express suggests that the 22-year-old has rejected Palace, however, in favour of a season spell with Neil Warnock at Cardiff.

Rejecting a team that was as good as Palace over the second half of last season is a big move for a player like Grujic – but it’s a sensible one.

He needs to be settled right now as it’s something he’s sorely lacked for three years now, and Cardiff can offer him just that; Warnock’s side can give him familiar surroundings at the Premier League level, allowing him to show Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp exactly what he can offer them.

Grujic knows his place at Cardiff, whereas Palace is a risk; we know that Roy Hodgson will be after multiple midfielders after Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yohan Cabaye both left the club, leaving Grujic stepping back into unknown territory at Selhurst Park.

A second loan at Cardiff, but this time in the Premier League, is exactly what Grujic, Cardiff, and Liverpool need right now.
