The 19-year-old has been linked with a return to Germany after spending last season at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Reece Oxford has ‘committed his future’ to West Ham United, according to Sky Sports.
The 19-year-old spent last season on loan in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach and was expected to move back there this summer on the permanent deal that Gladbach have chased since December.
West Ham were said to be listening to offers of around £10m for the player this summer and, with the European window still open, a move could have happened – although that now looks to be off the table.
Oxford was made the club’s youngest player in July 2015 when he made his debut in the Europa Leauge and the start to his career was so strong that he agreed a four-year deal in 2016 amid interest from Manchester United.
But things have slowed down dramatically since – Oxford has yet to make more than eight appearances in a season since, and that was last year with Gladbach.
He’s played just a single Premier League game since that debut season and so his apparent commitment to the West Ham cause is a very, very brave one.

The money the club is prepared to spend, as seen from the influx of players this summer, doesn’t make it an ideal development ground for a young player on the fringe of things.
And with Gladbach happy to give him a chance, choosing West Ham does look like a mistake from the outside. The report from Sky claims Oxford sees himself as ‘an Iron’ – hopefully this is a decision taken with the head as much as the heart.
