Liverpool have been linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic – but Jurgen Klopp allegedly has other plans.
The Liverpool Echo recently poured ice cold water on reports that Liverpool were considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic.
The Serbian striker has been in impeccable form this season, scoring 10 times in eight starts for club and country, while adding another two from the bench.
It’s no surprise that Jovic has been linked with a host of Europe’s elite clubs already – especially as he’s still just 20 years old – but Liverpool apparently aren’t interested.
Solanke has struggled to get into the first-team this season after mixed performances last term and Brewster remains sidelined through injury.
Klopp, however, is said to be committed to the duo and considering recent reports over the foreign player limit, that seems to be a very good decision.
The Guardian reports that the FA want to reduce the allowance of overseas players from 17 per squad to 13, a move that would make British talent key to any team.
If those rules do come in, the last thing Liverpool would want is an overseas striker getting in the way of the development of two very bright prospects.
As tempting as Jovic may be, Klopp is certainly making the right decision in not making a move.
