No Premier League club needs more rebuilding than that at Goodison Park this summer but the Toffees might have found two ideal transfers already.

Everton fans want more change this summer than even the sides fighting relegation – but it’s easy to see why.

They’ve been served up the literal opposite of what was expected when Farhad Moshiri took over the club as dour, unambitious football became the Goodison guarantee.

Sam Allardyce, Manager of Everton applauds fans after the Premier League match between Huddersfield Town and Everton at John Smith's Stadium on April 28, 2018 in Huddersfield, England.

It started last summer with a transfer window that left the squad unbalanced for anything other than the style of Sam Allardyce – again, this isn’t what the fans wanted.

But things can change in the upcoming window when an opportunity to remove Allardyce and begin a proper rebuilding job can begin.

It even looks like the Toffees have found a way to shake things up dramatically before the season has finished.

Wayne Rooney appears set to end his homecoming after one disappointing season by leaving for D.C. United in MLS, as reported by the Telegraph. It’s the right move for the club, moving on an ageing player who simply doesn’t have the energy needed in a midfield that Everton fans want to see.

But it also gives off the right impression; Everton aren’t a club for formerly-great players to wind down at – they’re on the up.

Turkey's midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup reacts at the end of the Euro 2016 group D football match between Czech Republic and Turkey at Bollaert-Delelis stadium in Lens on June 21, 2016.

His role is the squad could very well be filled by Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup. The Turk is out of contract this summer and is reported in his homeland to greatly favour a move to the Premier League.

And Everton are chasing the 25-year-old, with Turkish publication Aksam reporting last month that the Toffees were closing in on the midfielder.

A player entering his prime who has helped his side to back-to-back league titles? That’s what Everton need. That’s exactly the kind of player you can build around.

Ozyakup has the know-how of a winner and the ability to cut it in the Premier League.

If this is how the Toffees are starting their summer, they mean business.
