La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests AC Milan will try and sign Davide Santon from Newcastle United in a part-exchange deal.
Fiorentina and Roma have been linked with Newcastle United full-back Davide Santon but AC Milan may also step in with an offer.
Newcastle are keen to keep former Inter man Santon at the club and have reportedly put a price tag in excess of £10m on him to scare off suitors.
But Fiorentina and Roma remain interested and Milan could make an audacious attempt to lure the Italian rising star despite facing a lack of financial resources.
Milan will have to look for ways to reduce their spending over the course of the summer having failed to qualify for Europe next season.
However, Milan remain a prestigious club and Santon may be tempted by the opportunity to return to the city he lived in from 2005 to 2011 while at the Rossoneri’s city rivals Inter.
Whether Newcastle would be excited to welcome Constant is uncertain. The left-back who also plays in midfield received some heavy criticism for performances at Milan this season and has often looked out of his depth.
Constant may be keen to leave Italy however having been the victim of some disgusting racist abuse this season, including Atalanta fans throwing bananas and other objects including a knife at him.
