AC Milan could launch a bid for Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic in the January transfer window, with Leeds United and Newcastle United both looking to sign the American international in the summer.

According to CalcioMercato, the Rossoneri remain heavily interested in the 24-year-old attacker after failing to sign Pulisic in the summer, with the former Borussia Dortmund star also drawing interest from the likes of Leeds and Newcastle as an exit from Chelsea looms ever closer.

Pulisic has been a bit-part player for Chelsea since the departure of Frank Lampard as manager back in 2021, with Thomas Tuchel not the biggest fan of the American superstar as Graham Potter is yet to give the attacker a start since his appointment at the west London side.

Signed for £58m according to BBC Sport, Pulisic looks set to become Chelsea’s latest expensive flop after failing to play regular football in the past 18 months. And now, Milan could make a move for the winger in January as a departure from Stamford Bridge becomes an even bigger reality.

Indeed, whilst Leeds and Newcastle were both interested in signing Pulisic this summer as Dean Jones and the Telegraph reported, Milan seem to be the frontrunners to land the Hershey-born forward, with the prospect of silverware and European football an alluring prospect for any player.

With Pulsic’s Chelsea career going nowhere and interest ramping up in the winger, a move this January could be the perfect thing for the attacker’s development, and Milan should consider themselves the favourites to land the Leeds and Newcastle target in the new year.

Pulisic is arguably one of the most talented players at Chelsea, Yet given the club’s style of play and the other members in the attack, it makes sense why the American has become something of a forgotten man. And Milan could be a great next step for the 24-year-old, who looks desperate to leave London in January.

Leeds and Newcastle might be good clubs where Pulisic would be the star of the show, yet signing for Milan could be what unlocks the winger’s staggering potential, with the USA superstar arguably in need of a set-up that can get the best out of his talents.
