AC Milan are attempting to push through a deal for Liverpool midfielder Suso in January, but they need the Reds’ boss to sign off.
Liverpool fans have never seen the best of Spanish midfielder Suso and they may not get a chance if AC Milan have their way.
The 21-year-old signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in 2010 at the age of 17 and was seen as a great talent for the future.
But Suso has only played 14 times for the Reds since and has become frustrated with the lack of opportunities at Anfield.
Injury has kept the Spaniard out for the last two months, and he seems to have made up his mind to make a fresh start elsewhere, refusing to renew his contract, which expires in the summer.
It is believed that Milan have a four-year contract waiting for Suso, whose agents have been in Italy’s fashion capital to discuss terms over the last few days, and they are waiting to schedule a medical.
However, the deal could still stall if Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers decides he may still have a use for Suso over the next few months.
Milan are said to be waiting for word from Anfield but could complete a deal within days if they get the go-ahead.
