Everton and Marco Silva reportedly want to bring in Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha this summer.

The Mirror is reporting that Everton are very interested in a deal to bring Crystal Palace’s Wilf Zaha to Everton this summer.

That move certainly seems perfect for Everton – pace, drive, and trickery on the wing through a player with ample experience in the Premier League.

There is, however, a catch: Palace would want at least £60million for Zaha, leaving Everton with a very difficult choice to make.

Everton can just about match that fee and, if it’s decided that the Ivorian is worth that to them, Zaha could be wearing blue next season.

The real problem is that both Marco Silva and Marcel Brands know that their funds will have to be spread across the team this summer – exactly the situation last year was supposed to avoid.

Everton spent big on several positions last summer, only for most signings to fail to have the desired impact.

Now, a year later, they’re left needing to strengthen many of the positions they thought had been sorted long-term and that will surely prevent them from spending big on a player like Zaha.

They’ll almost certainly be left looking at what might have been as they try and repair the damage of last season – but in another year, perhaps a statement signing could very well happen.
