The Manchester United boss has reportedly lined up Milan Skriniar and Alessio Romagnoli, moving on from Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.

Reports from ESPN suggest that Jose Mourinho has pinpointed Internazionale’s Milan Skriniar and AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli as targets in the January transfer window.
Given their reported pursuit throughout the latter half of the summer window, Harry Maguire’s name is conspicuously absent – suggesting that Leicester City have firmly got their way.
Manchester United are a club with a lot of pulling power and you need only look to a year ago to see the effect such a club can have on a target.
Liverpool’s failed attempt to sign Virgil van Dijk in the summer of 2017 led to months of the player looking out of sorts before finally completing a move the following January. That deal left Southampton with less time to spend the money, and in a more difficult window.

But Leicester appear to have completely seen off United’s chase for Maguire and that is something that reflects very well on them indeed.
Instead of worrying about losing their one of their star players, let alone midway through a season, they can relax and focus on improvement.
As we saw with Van Dijk, it is not as easy as simply saying no, but Leicester have ensured that they are a club on the up.
