Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League so far.

Liverpool have had a somewhat mixed start to the season, despite sitting level at the top of the Premier League with Manchester City.
Other than a 4-0 win over West Ham United on opening day, we haven’t seen Jurgen Klopp’s side truly blow away teams in the spirit of last season, with the front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane looking particularly off the pace at times.
Still, their only two defeats of the season have come in the Champions League away at Napoli and against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup – Liverpool remain undefeated in the league.
And captain Jordan Henderson has played down criticism of the team, saying that this is some of the best early-season football that he’s been involved with.
“I know there is a lot of discussion externally at the moment about how we are getting results and comparisons being made to previous Liverpool sides of the last few years,” Henderson wrote in Liverpool’s official matchday program.
“Just to be clear, as the gaffer has said repeatedly, it’s not a case of looking to sacrifice adventure and attack to become more solid – in fact, I think some of the football we have played so far this season has been as good as anything at this stage of a campaign I’ve been involved with.”
Specifically, Henderson feels that the team ethic on the pitch has matured more than ever, highlighting it as such.
“I remember when we were under severe criticism in recent seasons for the supposed defensive issues.
“The shift the front lads are putting in means we set the tone for a more solid approach. I really don’t buy into the talk that they’re not as fluid as they were last season – that’s nonsense for me.

“Of course we know we need to improve, but that should be a given regardless.”
They’re very confident words from the Liverpool captain; Henderson clearly has complete confidence in his team, despite any apparent struggles.
He’s absolutely right about Liverpool looking more solid, too, as the team has only conceded three times in the Premier League – the joint least with Man City, and less than half of the next best of seven.
That’s something you will only get through an entire team pulling their weight and if they can match that going forward, Liverpool have an excellent chance of silverware this season.
