Joe Hart joined Burnley this summer from Manchester City after missing out on Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.

Could Joe Hart be back in Gareth Southgate’s England plans just a week after joining Burnley from Manchester City.
The 31-year-old was something of a surprise signing by Sean Dyche considering Hart’s sub-par performances for West Ham United last season were much the same as what he’d shown for Torino the season before.
On top of that, Dyche already had both Tom Heaton and Nick Pope in his squad, meaning the idea of bringing in Hart – a goalkeeper who certainly won’t want to be on the bench – was unpredictable to say the least.
But injuries to both have seemingly left Dyche unwilling to take any chances and £3.5m was spent on the former England goalkeeper.
Hart has rewarded that faith with two clean sheets in his first two games – and that surely moves him closer to achieving his ultimate goal already.
The injuries to both Heaton and Pope have left a gap in the England squad, one that Hart himself used to fill before Southgate decided to leave him at home this summer.

Jack Butland has dropped down to the Championship with Stoke City and looks set to stay the season there, meaning that as of right now, Jordan Pickford is the only one of Southgate’s World Cup goalkeepers to have started the season in the top flight.
With the opportunity for someone to step up, Hart’s back-to-back shutouts must put him at the front of the queue already.
