Grzegorz Krychowiak may have had a poor season on loan at West Bromwich Albion from Paris Saint-Germain but his form with Sevilla should interest Marco Silva.
Grzegorz Krychowiak was supposed to be a real coup when West Bromwich Albion signed him on loan from Paris Saint-Germain last summer but it did not work out that way.
The Polish midfielder begun well, but the chaos at the club quickly saw him shrink in stature and become something of a non-entity at The Hawthorns.
It is the latest in a sad downturn of form for Krychowiak ever since his move from Sevilla to PSG and he is in desperate need of a fresh start.
Could that be at Everton? Or, better put, should it be? Marco Silva recently admitted his desire to play 4-3-3 going forward with the Toffees.
“4-3-3, I can tell you,” Silva told the Liverpool Echo on his formation plans.
“Of course, it is the system I have played more.
“One second season I used 4-4-2 and sometimes last season three at the back in some moments but 4-3-3 is my system, depending on my No6.”
And that last part is critical – he needs the right holding midfielder. So who better than Krychowiak?
He is a tall, physical, experienced holding player who excelled in Seville as the midfield insurance for more mobile players while also offering cover at centre-back.
With the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Tom Davies, Gylfi Sigurdsson, and whoever else may arrive this summer, Krychowiak would be the perfect holding player to give them license to express themselves, much like he did at Sevilla.
And with PSG looking to sell the player, according to L’equipe, the 28-year-old could find Everton to be the perfect new home.
