Fulham must be the only Premier League side that Newcastle United’s Aleksandar Mitrovic considers this summer.

Aleksandar Mitrovic’s goal and performance vs Switzerland will have opened some eyes to his potential but he must ignore other Premier League offers until Fulham come calling.

The 23-year-old will likely leave Newcastle United this summer after three seasons at the club, according to reports on the eve of the World Cup.

He hasn’t, of course, spent all of that time in the North East as he spent the latter half of last season on loan at Fulham, providing many of the goals that helped fire them back into the Premier League.

And now that Newcastle are happy to sell, Fulham will surely be at the front of the line for his signature – unless his international performances bring more suitors.

The Serbian admitted at the end of the season that his time with Fulham were “the best three-and-a-half, four months of [his] career” and that already suggests that the club would be very attractive to him if they made an offer – although he stopped short of committing any sort of future to them.

But perhaps he should, as no other Premier League side can offer him what he needs – full backing and patience.

Mitrovic has succeeded with every team he’s played for, including internationally, except for Newcastle. That suggests a player in need of faith that is rarely seen in the high-stakes of the Premier League.

Guido Carrillo, for example, only got eight starts for Southampton after signing last season – the Argentine’s fate was decided pretty early on after not immediately firing.

Mitrovic can’t risk another failed move with a club that he either doesn’t fit in or won’t give him the patience he needs – fortunately for him, he knows exactly where he can find everything he needs.
