Tottenham Hotspur fell to 5th in the Premier League after defeat to their rivals.

Defeat on Sunday was an embarrassing one for Tottenham Hotspur – they’d led at halftime and their eventual defeat by two goals will hurt for a while.
The loss drops Spurs down to fifth, level on points with 4th place Arsenal but below them on goal difference.
That’s not good news, considering they were third and just three points off Liverpool before the game but one look at the fixture list and you can see just how quickly it could all turn around.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side don’t have a single game that they won’t feel like strong favourites for until they play Manchester United on January 13th – and most fans would rightly argue that they should expect three points from that.
Beyond that game, Spurs won’t face another member of the ‘big six’ until February 27th when they travel to Chelsea, a game that is immediately followed by the reverse fixture against Arsenal.
The Gunners, on the other hand, face both United and Liverpool before the month is out and will meet with Chelsea and Manchester City before that Spurs v Chelsea clash.

Chelsea, Spurs’ other closest rival, will play City twice before the late February game with Spurs, with a trip to the Emirates in between.
Yes, Spurs have suffered a setback with their defeat to Arsenal but they have a brilliant chance to generate momentum and points over the next three months that their rivals don’t have.
Arsenal fans may be happier now but there’s a good chance the roles are reversed by the time they meet again.
