The Lazio winger is reportedly set to hand in a transfer request with West Ham United very interested.

The Hammers upped their bid for the player to £35million plus add-ons a few days ago, according to Sky Sports, with a determination to move the deal through as quickly as possible.

Anderson’s reasons for his request would certainly be varied and shouldn’t be seen as desperation to play for West Ham, however, the request itself certainly can be viewed as evidence of the clubs potential attraction to players.
Once strongly linked with Manchester United, Anderson wouldn’t be without his options should he choose to leave but he knows full well that West Ham are at the front of any queue.

He would be under no illusions that they’re the club most likely to push through a deal at the fee Lazio would want and so viewing them as a greener pasture for him is undoubted praise for West Ham.
The 25-year-old is after regular first-team football after falling out with people in Rome and, considering Lazio’s excellent season that saw them narrowly miss out on Champions League football, the fact he entertains the idea of a happier career in London is real praise.

The important thing to remember is that West Ham aren’t where they want to be – they’re just moving there; if they can attract desire from players at this stage of their rebuild, then where can they be in a year if Manuel Pellegrini succeeds?
A big stadium, a respected coach, and real history behind them – West Ham are going places and, crucially, players might be starting to notice that.
