PSV Eindhoven have put a hefty price on their Mexican star as clubs prepare to move.

Everton have long been linked with PSV Eindhoven star Hirving Lozano, in no small part due to their appointment of Marcel Brands, formerly of PSV, as their Director of Football.

The talk surrounding Lozano and Everton reached the point where the Mexican was openly discussing the rumours himself, admitting that he wasn’t allowing himself to be distracted before the World Cup.

Since then, Barcelona have emerged as a potential destination for Lozano, too – clearly quite a threat to any plans Everton still harbour as the player himself admits a move to Camp Nou would be a dream.

The interest in their player has led PSV to name their price, according to Fox Deportes: €60million – a fee that would give any team plenty to think about.

While Barca have their own concerns, Everton need to look at that figure and decide if their team is complete enough to move for a marquee signing.

Two years of first-team players arriving en masse has seen plenty of spending, but such a move for Lozano would leave them with little money to invest elsewhere.

Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands speaks to the media during a press conference at USM Finch Farm on June 4, 2018 in Halewood, England.

The summer saw Everton finish with a net spend of around £68million, thanks to over £20million in sales, showing that the Toffees would be spending the majority of their budget without sales on Lozano.

Still, it appears the money is there and if it’s decided that a marquee signing is what’s needed next to take the team up a level, they may not find a better-suited option.

It looks like Everton could have a big decision to make soon.
