Everton have consistently been linked with a move for Barcelona’s Colombian defender, Yerry Mina.

It’s no secret that Everton have been chasing a centre-half this summer, with links going back to last May, when Sam Allardyce was still in charge.
More recently, however, Barcelona’s Yerry Mina has been at the top of their wishlist, according to various sources, most recently the Mirror.
As the clock ticks ever nearer towards the end of the transfer window, Everton’s pursuit of Mina becomes increasingly more vital – with time to find targets disappearing.
Michael Keane, last year’s big defensive signing, failed to suitably impress in a season where Everton looked less-than-convincing. The arrival of a centre half is virtually a necessity, as Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams wind down their careers.

Mina is quickly looking like Everton’s only decent choice. After Jonny Evans joined Leicester and Alfie Mawson nears a move to Fulham. And Harry Maguire will reportedly cost as much as £65m. Outside of Mina, it’s difficult to think of an experienced centre-back who would be available right now.
