Reports suggest Juventus are offering Marko Pjaca to Fiorentina in the hope of securing Federico Chiesa next summer but could Tottenham Hotspur do similar?

Tuttosport is reporting that Juventus have offered Marko Pjaca to Fiorentina, initially on loan, in order to secure their position at the front of the line for Federico Chiesa next summer.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the most promising young players in Italy, and perhaps all of Europe, although Fiorentina are unlikely to sell this summer.

But could this be a situation that Tottenham Hotspur can take advantage of?

It is no secret that Spurs want to bolster their squad this summer but their interest in Chiesa has been reported since May.

The Italian is able to play all across the front line but primarily on the wing – exactly what Tottenham are looking for – and he is at an age that boss Mauricio Pochettino has thrived at developing, as seen with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

It would be ideal to get him now but if Tottenham are bringing in someone else anyway, it is likely that Erik Lamela will become a little surplus to requirements, potentially giving them one over Juve.

It is no secret that Fiorentina hate Juventus, and seeing such a bright talent go there will only be done begrudgingly to put it mildly, so if Spurs can give them an opportunity to look elsewhere for the cash they will probably jump at it.

Offering Lamela on loan, with a successful period in Serie A already under his belt, really could turn their heads.

It would be a long-term move for Tottenham, clearly not fixing their problems right now, but it would be a sensible one, and one they could come to regret if they don’t take it while they have the chance.
