Tottenham Hotspur reportedly hold an interest in AS Roma’s Argentinian winger Diego Perotti.

The Argentine would be a great signing for Spurs, helping to boost their attack in an ideal way this summer.
There is no real need for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to sign a superstar forward given the incredible, ever improving front line he boasts already.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, and Heung-min Son are all under 27 and have developed together over the last few years, becoming one of Europe’s most well-rounded attacks.
The only real issue with it is the lack of depth and, beyond that, no real versatility.
Lucas Moura has high hopes of adding the same kind of pace and drive to the right flank that Son does on the left, but that is largely the extent of Pochettino’s options.

Perotti, however, would bring more creativity and technique to Tottenham’s left flank, able to open up defences rather than exploit gaps in the same way as Son.
And that in itself frees the South Korean international to fill a role as a striker that he proved very capable of doing when Kane was injured last season – creating a Plan B that Pochettino has thus far struggled to find.

That is two different options created by one player, and that is before considering the benefits of adding an older, more experienced player in the 29-year-old to Tottenaham’s squad.
It may just be one signing, but Perotti could help revolutionise Spurs if he arrives.
