Sean Dyche is said to have been disappointed with Burnley’s recruitment in pre-season.

Burnley were not too happy with a summer that saw them recruit just three new players, all within the last week of the window, despite an apparent need for a deeper squad.
That frustration has reportedly led to a search for a technical director, according to the Lancashire Telegraph, a position that would aid in recruitment.
It is a smart move from Burnley as something certainly needed to be done after the slow-moving summer.
Despite originally being set for Europa League football, the club waited to make any new signings; something that arguably led to them crashing out in the qualifiers.
Joe Hart, Ben Gibson, and Matej Vydra are the three players who did eventually arrive, but the squad remains one of the Premier League’s smallest.
Just 24 players were used last season – the joint-second least – and that was never going to be a squad capable of covering both domestic and European football.

The good sign for Burnley, however, is that Sean Dyche and co. do not want to rest on their achievements of last season and clearly still want to move forward with their recruitment efforts.
It is exactly the kind of move that ensures last season was not a mere flash in the pan.
