Gomes was handed 82 minutes against Crystal Palace in his bow under Marco Silva.

Andre Gomes has had to wait for his Everton debut but it finally arrived against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The Portuguese midfielder has already been praised by manager Marco Silva for his performance after stepping in for Tom Davies against the Eagles and Gomes has been quick to praise the Everton faithful for their support.
“I felt very comfortable – the supporters were with me all the time and with the team, so I am really grateful to be here,” he told Everton’s official website.
“It was impressive how the fans support us here. It felt really good.”
Those are obviously words that any supporter would love to hear but it is a particularly good sign from Gomes, who endured a lot of criticism from Barcelona fans over his years there.
The 25-year-old is only on loan from Camp Nou as he tries to re-find the form he showed for Valencia and the Everton fans’ support will be absolutely vital in allowing him to settle and finally play his natural game.
But it isn’t just the fans that have impressed Gomes on his arrival at Goodison – the squad depth at the club has also caught his eye.
“We have a lot of really good players, especially in the midfield,” he said.
“I think it’s good for the team because we are very competitive.

“I think we want to give the manager some trouble to decide the team and the squad. Even if we bring on other players, like we saw with the substitutions against Crystal Palace, we are still very strong as a team.”
Squad depth isn’t something that has been associated with Everton for a good few years now but the fact that a player can turn up from Barcelona and speak positively of it is certainly a good sign.
Everton appear to have the right conditions for Gomes, if his words are anything to go by, and if he can re-find his form, the fans are in for a real treat.
