Tottenham Hotspur have two reasons to watch loanee Giovani lo Celso in action in Spain this afternoon.
Not only will Spurs be interested to see how Lo Celso fares since joining Villarreal on a half-season loan.
But the Argentina international is facing Real Madrid and Gareth Bale, who has reportedly agreed to re-join Tottenham this coming summer.
Tuttomercatoweb reported on Thursday that the Lilywhites will be bringing the 32-year-old back to North London for a third time.
And having made the starting XI today against Unai Emery’s side, it’ll be fascinating to see if the Wales international can still cook defenders like he used to.
Unbelievable
Well, the answer to that is already no because, well, he turns 33 this summer and the aging process slows everybody down, regardless of your profile within football.
But Bale, who originally left Tottenham in 2013, remains an ‘absolutely unbelievable’ player.
That’s according to Wales teammate Daniel James, who told FIFA.com as recently as November.
Whether Lo Celso has a stinker or a 10/10 performance this afternoon, it might not matter to manager Antonio Conte.
The Italian might’ve already decided that the former Paris Saint-Germian midfielder won’t be playing a part in his plans in North London.
Bale, however, well a good performance today could whet appetite’s in North London for another fairytale return.
