Arsenal fans are disgusted with what they’re hearing about Matteo Guendouzi.

The France Under-21 international has been heavily linked with a move away from North London for most of the summer.

But it appears as if there’s been concrete developments over the past 24 hours.

According to Goal.com, Guendouzi’s move from Arsenal to Marseille could be finalised within the next seven days.

And although it’ll be a loan initially, the Ligue 1 side have an obligation to sign him outright next summer.

Thing is, the Gunners will receive only £9 million [Goal.com] for the player if he does indeed join the French side in 12 months.

And suffice to say that some Arsenal supporters are furious over that amount – and rightly so.

Horrendous

This looks like being a dreadful piece of business by Arsenal.

There’s no denying that Guendouzi has no future at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta because the two clearly don’t see eye to eye.

But to get only £9 million – excluding the loan fee – for a player who was worth literally five times that amount 11 months ago [The Times] is horrendous.

Last August, Arsenal had a £40 million price-tag on the player and it wasn’t even considered ridiculous because, well, why would it?

As a 19-year-old, he absolutely bossed his first season in the Premier League [2018-19, under Unai Emery] and is captain of France at Under-21 level.

He may not be worth £40 million anymore because that was a year ago and he has since had a loan with Hertha Berlin, but he’s worth a lot more than £9 million.
