New York Knicks fans have just learned that Jalen Brunson will not be the cover athlete for the NBA 2K27 video game.
The point guard recently led the Knicks to their first championship in 63 years and is arguably the face of the league.
NBA 2K had even teased that Brunson would be the cover athlete by posting a picture of the New York City Subway.
However, they have chosen San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama instead, despite losing to the Knicks in the Finals.

Knicks fans believe Jalen Brunson deserved the NBA 2K27 cover
New York Knicks fans idolise Jalen Brunson and cannot believe he has been snubbed from the cover of NBA 2K27.
As the reigning Finals MVP and the biggest superstar in the biggest market (NYC), Brunson would have made perfect sense.
He will have to wait until next year, at the earliest, as Victor Wembanyama has received the prestigious honour this time.
The following responses to Shams Charania’s report and NBA 2K’s announcement sum up the discontent among Knicks fans.
“Let Crybanyama have his cover; Brunson got the stuff that really matters at the end of the day,” one wrote.
Another posted: “Wemby can be the cover any year for the next decade. If Brunson were on the cover, you’d sell 10x as many copies coming off a championship… y’all fumbled a golden opportunity.”
“Absolutely ridiculous. His father (Brunson) should be on the cover,” a Knicks fan said.
A fourth commented: “We all know who the best player on the planet is: Jalen Marquis Brunson.”
Knicks fans can only hope that Brunson has another excellent season and makes the NBA 2K cover this time next year.
