Incase it wasn’t already obvious, Liverpool new boy Thiago Alcantara is very good at football.

The Spain international signed on the dotted line for Liverpool seven days ago and made his debut a day later in the win away to Chelsea.

There, Thiago, who came on at half-time, set a Premier League record on his debut by completing 75 passes – more than any other player has ever managed during a 45-minute stint on the field, since records began in the 2003-04 campaign.

Early days, of course, but it already looks like Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards have pulled off an absolute masterstroke by signing the 29-year-old.

And some Liverpool fans are drooling over some training-ground footage of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich midfielder.

On Friday, the club released footage of Thiago at Melwood, as he effortlessly flicked the ball up – and kept it up – in a sublime bit of skill that has fans of the Anfield club well and truly purring:

Klopp’s side are home to Arsenal on Monday night and it looks like it could be Thiago’s full debut, with injury doubts over Jordan Henderson.
