Charlie Nicholas unhappy at Arsenal midfielder’s England omission, and says Tottenham duo are not better players.

Charlie Nicholas has slammed Jack Wilshere’s omission from the latest England squad, arguing he is a better player than Tottenham’s Harry Winks.
Southgate’s comments have ruffled former Gunner Charlie Nicholas’ feathers.

He hit out at the decision, telling SkySports: “Are Harry Winks, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Jordan Henderson or Eric Dier better players than Wilshere? Absolutely not.
“It isn’t about patting somebody on the back and saying well done for playing well, it is about getting a squad ready for a major tournament.”

Harry Winks has just been called into his second England squad, after impressing in recent World Cup qualifiers.
He followed this up with back to back starts against Real Madrid and was terrific in both games.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek was a surprise call up and this should act as another reminder to Jack Wilshere that he has to kick on and make progress.
Wilshere has played only 13 minutes of Premier League football this season, featuring instead in the Europa League when the Gunners rotate their line-up.
