Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Aston Villa could possibly sign Philippe Coutinho this month.
With a certain Steven Gerrard now prowling Aston Villa’s touchline, it has emerged that the Liverpool legend wants to bring his former teammate to B6.
Sky Sports report that Villa are keen on signing the Barcelona playmaker on-loan, alongside various other Premier League clubs, including the likes of Arsenal.
For those in north London, this isn’t the first time that their name has been attached to Coutinho’s.
So, it could be a case of old news just resurfacing or his name continuing to plug away in the Arsenal transfer rumour mill, or Mikel Arteta actually wants to further boost his already strong creative department.
Either way, there are sections of Arsenal fans who think Villa are doing pretty well in possibly luring Coutinho’s talents towards their direction.
It may not have worked out for the 29-year-old at the Nou Camp, but he still has plenty of time on his hands and the last time he was in England’s top-flight, he was doing the business at Anfield, alongside Gerrard.
The Villa boss clearly feels he can get the best out of the Brazil international, who in between his now forgettable spell at Barcelona, spent time on-loan at Bayern Munich.
He ended up winning the European Cup in Bayern colours, but went back to Catalonia where things haven’t worked out once again.
