Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left excited after Ryan Mason promised to play an attacking brand of football ahead of tonight’s game with Southampton.
Mason conducted his first press conference yesterday, which was covered by Football London, and the rookie manager spoke well, despite being asked some difficult questions on a range of issues.
Mason came up through Tottenham’s academy, before making it all the way into their first-team.
He certainly knows the principles that Spurs supporters demand.
And he said: “I want us to be brave and aggressive and play like Tottenham Hotspur.”
Those comments have gone down extremely well for Tottenham fans, who became tired of the dour football they played under Jose Mourinho.
It now remains to be seen if Mason can deliver the brand of football that he has been promising on the pitch.
Tottenham go into tonight’s game with Southampton as favourites, but their victory is hardly a foregone conclusion.
The Saints can be a dangerous opponent and Tottenham will surely have to improve on recent displays if they are to take the three points.
