Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Daily Mail revealed that Joe Rodon will make his first Premier League start in tomorrow’s meeting with Chelsea.

The Daily Mail state that Jose Mourinho has been impressed with the Wales international’s displays in training since his £11 million move from Swansea over the summer.

Toby Alderweireld is missing with a groin injury, while Davinson Sanchez has fallen out of favour following some early-season blunders.

The 23-year-old Welshman has played just ten minutes of Premier League action since his move from Swansea, across two separate appearances.

Rodon played nine minutes of the 2-0 win over Manchester City, and just one minute in the closing stages of the 1-0 win over Burnley.

Seeing as he’s reportedly being trusted to start over Sanchez, a man with 127 Tottenham appearances under his belt, this is a big call by Mourinho.

Even more so seeing as the new boy will have to contend with the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech.

The ex-Chelsea boss has clearly lost faith in the Colombian, and if Rodon can grab his opportunity with both hands, the ex-Ajax centre-back could struggle to regain his first-team place, in our opinion.

Let’s see how the Tottenham fans on Twitter reacted to the Daily Mail’s report…
