Liverpool fans are unhappy with Ashley Barnes yet again after his antics against Leeds United this afternoon.

The Burnley attacker looked up to his old tricks as Leeds visited Turf Moor today.

Last week, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp accused Barnes of carrying himself more like a wrestler than a footballer for his rough play against the Reds’ defenders.

And today, the 31-year-old was perhaps a touch fortunate to avoid a first-half red card for a dangerously-high tackle on Stuart Dallas.

Dallas, who looked in some discomfort, then took exception to Barnes’s suggestions that he was exaggerating the severity of it.

Here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to the incident on Twitter – and suffice to say they aren’t happy with the Burnley star.

How the game played out

Despite Barnes’ tackle, which resulted in a yellow card, Dallas could carry on.

Leeds fell behind in the second half when Chris Wood tapped home from point-blank range via a deflection.

But Marcelo Bielsa’s side levelled up with a few minutes to go when Patrick Bamford equalised in very similar circumstances, with the 28-year-old striker, who received an England call-up this week, diverting Jamie Shacketon’s goal-bound effort into an empty net.

The visitors huffed and puffed in search of a winner, but the points were ultimately shared in what is probably a fair result.

But no doubt Leeds fans on social media will be berating the fact that Barnes was allowed to continue and they might just have a point.
