Some Liverpool fans on Twitter have called on manager Jurgen Klopp to give Ozan Kabak his debut this weekend.
This season now looks to be about qualifying for the Champions League next season for a Reds side that slipped 10 points behind Manchester City on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s side thumped Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield and it looks like Klopp’s troops should now focus on finishing in the top four.
The reigning champions signed Kabak and Ben Davies on transfer deadline day last Monday due to the fact that Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are absent for the foreseeable future.
Davies has no experience of top-flight football after joining from Preston North End, while Kabak signed on a half-season loan from Schalke and one that’ll cost Liverpool £18 million to make permanent, their official website claims.
Klopp has been getting away with using Fabinho and Jordan Henderson for much of the season at centre-back, but the Sky Blues showed that perhaps England midfielder isn’t as comfortable in central defence as his Brazilian team-mate.
And therefore some fans are calling on the German coach to unleash Kabak against Leicester on Saturday afternoon:
