A Gabriel Martinelli goal denied Arsenal an opener against Manchester United this afternoon.
The Brazilian wonderkid thought he opened the scoring with a brilliant finish past David de Gea early on in the first 45 minutes at Old Trafford.
However, the goal was ultimately chalked off by referee Paul Tierney following an apparent foul on Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen moments earlier.
Despite the goal being disallowed, it demonstrated how rapid the Arsenal attacker is, racing past Diogo Dalot to latch on to the through ball.
And here’s what Gary Neville said about the Gunners’ £6 million signing from 2019.
He said on Sky Sports: “Look at Martinelli versus Dalot. It’s absolutely devastating from Martinelli. He cuts across Dalot who can’t get back. It might be a foul on that one.”

Gabriel Martinelli goal
It’s definitely a little unlucky on Arsenal, who would’ve been good value for the lead.
Mikel Arteta will be even more furious because the North Londoners are trailing 1-0 at the break, after Antony, on his debut for Manchester United, slotted a legitimate opener past Aaron Ramsdale on 35 minutes.
Having said that, the Spanish coach will still be reasonably content as far as Arsenal’s performance goes.
The Gunners were the better side for much of the first half and it’ll be fascinating to see how Arteta’s side – who have won all five Premier League games this season – respond to this in the second half.
