Aaron Danks has claimed on Twitter that he is ‘absolutely delighted’ at joining Aston Villa.

The 36-year-old has become part of Dean Smith’s coaching staff at Villa Park after the departures of John Terry and Richard O’Kelly this summer.

There has been quite the changes at Bodymoor Heath this summer, with Danks walking into the doors, alongside set-piece coach, Austin MacPhee.

Danks will now work alongside Smith and last summer’s capture, Craig Shakespeare, with MacPhee bringing the magic and element of surprise from dead-ball situations.

From working with England’s U21’s, where he coached a certain Ezri Konsa, to working out in Belgium with Anderlecht.

Danks will bring a fair bit of coaching experience to the Midlands, and yes, he also worked at West Brom, well he had to, didn’t he?!

Nonetheless, this is what the Englishman had to say on Twitter about joining Villa:

It perhaps wasn’t a surprise to Villa supporters that Terry left the club this summer because he wants to become manager one day, so that was expected.

But it was a surprise to some when O’Kelly, who has worked with Smith throughout his managerial career, also departed before their season opener at Watford.

There has been a fair few changes, both on and off the field, at Villa Park this summer.

But every club needs that refresh now and again, so it’s going to be interesting to see how the players react to these latest set of changes.
