James was in action for Everton in their Premier League game against Tottenham away from home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday evening.
It was the Colombia international’s debut for the Toffees, with the 29-year-old having joined the Merseyside club from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The former FC Porto ace – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger – was superb for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, with his guile, creativity and finesse making Everton brilliant to watch.
According to WhoScored, against Tottenham on Sunday evening, the Colombian took three shots of which none was on target, played five key passes, had a pass accuracy of 83.9%, won one header, took 74 touches, attempted two dribble, made one tackle and four interceptions, and put in one cross.
James is a very experienced footballer who has won league titles with Porto, Madrid and Bayern Munich, and the Champions League twice with Los Blancos.
Everton seem to be aiming to challenge for the top four of the Premier League table this season, and if the Colombian plays like he did today, then the Toffees will have a great chance of doing so.
