Some Arsenal fans are pretty excited by the prospect of signing one player.
According to The Sun, Arsenal could look at Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster as a replacement for Emiliano Martinez.
Forster dazzled on a season-long loan at Celtic this past season, indicating that he doesn’t have much future on the South Coast if they farmed him out.
The 32-year-old, who cost Southampton £10 million in 2014 [The Guardian], remains at the peak of his powers, and saved four penalties out of seven up North last term.
Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to the idea of having him in North London:
As good as Leno can be, he is a tad inconsistent and having someone like Forster nipping at his heels can only be a good thing.
With respect to Martinez, the 27-year-old isn’t on Forster’s level and the German goalkeeper will be on his toes a lot more if the 6’7 giant was competing with him, so this makes sense from Arsenal’s perspective.
