Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced that Roy Makaay, Arno Phillps and Yori Bosschart had arrived at Ibrox.

What’s the story?

Well, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has finally been joined by a backroom team at Rangers, after replacing Steven Gerrard as manager.

The trio all received their work permits yesterday morning, allowing Rangers to officially announced their arrival.

Makaay joins as first-team coach, while Bosschart will help Van Bronckhorst to study games as a performance analyst.

In the case of Phillps, he arrives in Glasgow as a fitness coach at Rangers.

Makaay worked alongside Van Bronckhorst at Feyenoord, as did Bosschart, so the trio are no strangers to each other.

As one fan below said, Bosschart is a phenomenal name for an analyst – it’s incredibly apt!

Phillps also worked with them at Feyenoord, and followed Van Bronckhorst to Guangzhou FC as well.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is all set at Rangers

It’s great to hear that Van Bronckhorst has surrounded himself with a team of familiar faces – he’s now all set to succeed at Ibrox.

The 46-year-old enjoyed success in the Netherlands with his three chosen appointments, winning the Eredivisie title in 2017.

The quartet also won the KNVB Cup on two occasions in 2016 and 2018, while also lifting the Johan Cruyff Cup in 2017 and 2018.
