Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll has praised his teammate Joelinton on Twitter for his performance against Crystal Palace last night.
The Magpies got the better of Palace 2-0 away from home at Selhurst Park in London in the Premier League on Friday evening.
Joelinton provided the assist for Callum Wilson to open the scoring for Steve Bruce’s side in the 88th minute, and the 24-year-old Brazilian forward himself made it 2-0 just two minutes later.
Former Liverpool and West Ham United striker Carroll has praised his Newcastle teammate’s performance against the Magpies.
Encouraging for Joelinton
Joelinton has not had the best of times since he moved to Newcastle in the summer of 2019 and has failed to score regularly.
According to WhoScored, the former Hoffenheim striker scored two goals and provided two assists in 38 Premier League matches for the Magpies last season.
So far this campaign, the 24-year-old has made five starts and four substitute appearances in the league for the Magpies, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
Perhaps his performance against Palace will boost the confidence of Joelinton.
