
Well, there was heartbreak for England at Euro 2020 but you could argue that a certain Leeds United player was their best and most consistent performer of the tournament.
The Three Lions lost on penalties to Italy at Wembley last night.
This was Kalvin Phillips’s first major tournament as an England player and he conducted himself with the sort of class and composure that Leeds fans have been seeing from him for years.
The 25-year-old started all seven games in the competition and although it ended in huge disappointment, he can be proud of his performances, along with the whole of West Yorkshire.
Another man clearly proud of Phillips is Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta.
The Spaniard was photographed holding an England flag with the Whites midfielder emblazoned on it, while at a screening of the game in Leeds.
