Gary Neville says the celebration between Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka and Manchester City playmaker Phil Foden during England’s 3-0 win over Senegal at the Qatar World Cup was ‘absolutely amazing’, as he told ITV Sport.

In a near-perfect night for England in Doha, they booked their ticket to the quarter-finals of football’s biggest tournament, with Arsenal’s Hale-End star shining brightly once again.

Phil Foden, who had assisted Harry Kane in the first half, then made a brilliant darting run down the left channel, skipped a challenge, before his brilliant low cross found the on-rushing Saka who dinked Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy with his first touch and added his third goal of the tournament.

The Arsenal 21-year-old then proceeded to run towards the Manchester City academy product by pointing at him, before they hugged each other.

That moment was picked out by former Manchester United defender Gary Neville, who thinks the goal, as well as the celebrations, was brilliant viewing.

“We love the young players,” said Neville. “The celebrations with Saka and Foden were absolutely amazing. That goal was just delicious, at the end.

“The pass through the legs of Foden. The weight of delivery and then the little finish from Saka. It’s really fantastic.”
