Arsenal have had a few fiery characters down the years.
There’s been Martin Keown, who famously – or is it infamously? – nearly took Ruud van Nistelrooy’s head off with his bicep back in 2003.
And of course Patrick Vieira, who was sent off in the same match and managed to pick up eight red cards during a nine-year stint in North London.
Some Arsenal fans might argue that they badly lacked figures like this during the second half of Arsene Wenger’s reign with the Gunners, but they could potentially put that right.
That’s because the Gunners are now linked with none other than Wilmar Barrios – yep, that Wilmar Barrios, the same player who headbutted Jordan Henderson during England’s World Cup win over Colombia two years ago.
He only picked up a yellow card for the incident, something that stunned Match of the Day host Gary Lineker at the time.
There’s probably quite a few England fans out there who haven’t forgotten, and won’t forget, even though the Three Lions won the game that night.
But there’s also a few Arsenal fans on Twitter who want him. Here’s how they reacted to the speculation, which stems from Jeunex Footeaux.
